How I Turned My Failures Into Success
Of course, before you test new teaching approaches, you need to be testing and measuring what you are already doing. For example, the number of teachers who stand up and teach every day and have never accurately measured the response and therefore don't know if they are getting through - is scary.
I had a capacity for falling in love unmatched by anyone else I know and unrestrained by any need for reciprocity. In my last year at primary school I fell irrevocably in love with words AND my gangly English golden teacher who must have been at least 25 years older than I was.
You, my dear Diva, are a Golden Goose. Each day you lay multiple golden eggs throughout your life. They are often disguised as meals for loved ones, staying a little later at work to help your boss or co-workers, volunteering at the church or PTA, working on your cross-stitch or scrapbooking or on a passion of your heart. Everything that you do, each and every day, that brings a blessing to another is a golden egg. Like the goose in the story, you know how to lay the eggs. How well do you care for the goose?
growkit golden teacher It was 1997. Some college friends from Newburyport, MA invited me up to relax and take a break from my loss. I went. They asked if I wanted to see a movie, and I said "sure, why not". We drove to New Hampshire as they wanted to see a new Jack Nicholson movie "As Good As It Gets". I enjoy his movies so figured I would at least be entertained, in spite of the depression and continued writers block I was experiencing.
growkit golden teacher Lao Mu is afraid that her royal children will suffer in the great catastrophe, hurry cultivate virtue and devote to the missions. If we are not hungering for God's word, it's because we have filled ourselves up with other things, with trash. (Proverbs 15:14 NLT - A wise person is hungry for truth, while the fool feeds on trash.) Perhaps it's time for us to turn of the TV's and video games for a while and truly study God's word.
golden teacher Silence In a world filled with noise, noise and more noise... silence truly is golden. As entrepreneurs, we're overwhelmed by email, phone calls, TV, radio, social media, blogs, teleclasses, a long "to do" list, etc. And, it's all draws your focus to the external. Yet, in order to succeed as a happy, fulfilled, successful conscious entrepreneur your focus needs to be inside of yourself. Silence is how this happens. golden teacher growkit Anyhow, we began exchanging notes. My high school used a "block schedule" where our classes would change depending upon the day, so that would leave one day in between to write a letter in return.
golden teacher My real life excursions into the world of romance were hardly more satisfying. Because I had an aura of mystery, which was really just social incompetence, I did finally manage to attract two rather desirable young boys, who were considered catches. I say two because they were in quick succession. One was a lovely looking sweetie pie disguised as a bit of a bruiser, the other was a golden haired poet disguised as a golden haired poet.
I will give you an example. The Northridge earthquake in 1994 destroyed my home. I was forced to move into an apartment that didn't allow dogs. I had a beautiful blonde golden retriever I was forced to give away.
I walked into the event a lot late. In the 1960's it would be called "a happening." The name of the event was "Children, Our Ultimate Investment." It was a celebration of Aldous Huxley's birth. Ram Dass was on stage with (Alan Watt's cohort) Al Huang (of the Living Tao foundation). As Dass did his thing about Shiva and existence and bliss Al Huang danced spontaneously and these professional big kids were having a really good time as they carried Laura Huxley around the packed room and danced with her in their arms.
