Choosing a Double pushchair twin (you could try here)
You need a double stroller in order to take your twins from A to B. Our range of twin good prams includes twin buggies that can be configured in different ways to suit your requirements.
Choose a stroller which can be folded in just one step and then easily tucked away into your boot. You could also opt for a lighter design, especially when you're on busy high streets.
Side-by-Side
This is the most common double pushchair. It can usually seat two children side by side. They tend to be a bit wider than single pushchairs, meaning they're less agile on the footpaths and may be a bit difficult to navigate between kerbs when a car seat is attached. The extra width makes them easier to maneuver through doorways, and they are more evenly distributed so that it is easier for you to carry them on your back.
They can be used as twin sale prams from birth and many models will take both a carrycot and 2 car seats. Some models can be converted into one mode with a basket on the side (like the Cybex Venus).
One of the best examples of this is the Bugaboo Donkey 5 which, in Twin Mode, allows you to fit the rear seat and a carrycot side by side. This creates a totally enclosed space for twins, and is ideal for newborns. The pram comes with very cool accessories, including the newborn cocoons, which can be put on either facing toward the forward direction or in any direction (for twin-facing prams for sale). It's not as lightweight as other options but it is really cleverly thought out.
Lightweight
Cybex is known for innovation and this compact pushchair converts to a single is no exception. Its innovative frame expands widthways to accommodate a second seat and can be used it as a twin right from birth, thanks to the addition of two newborn cocoons (PS59 each) which create enclosed lie-flat spaces for infants. It can also be used in a mono mode with one child thanks to a large shopping basket that is placed behind the seat. And it has a rear and front suspensions that can handle bumps and uneven surfaces a little more easily. A top pick from our reviewers.
Available in a range of fashionable colors.
Tandem
If you're planning to have twins, you'll need a tandem pushchair cheap. This will allow each child to sit and look at each other. They are great for trips to the zoo as the children can watch the animals together. These are also great for parents who want to watch both their toddler and baby at the same time.
Some tandem pushchairs are very flexible, as they can be converted back to single mode. This is especially useful if you're planning to have more than two children (or just your eldest doesn't need a buggy anymore). It means you won't be left with an empty pushchair to put away and can be expensive.
For example the Cybex Venus can be used in double or mono mode and has a smart frame that expands widthways to accommodate an extra seat. This isn't the lightest of pushchairs, but it offers a large shopping basket that is placed behind the front seat when in double mode (and behind the seat when it's mono mode). The seats can be positioned in a way that they face each the other or higher to be able to see what each is doing.
Other double tandem pushchairs like the Joolz Geo 3 can seat one on top of the other, or side-by-side. The slim, sleek frame makes it easier to navigate through doorways and aisles in supermarkets. Some models can also be used on uneven terrain, or for a jogging path due to their large rear wheels and four-wheel suspension.
Another benefit of a tandem pushchair is that it can include two carrycots, or a car seat and a buggy seat. This allows you to create an entire travel system from the outset and save money on additional purchases. Remember that tandems are heavier and longer, and they may appear less stable when bumping into the kerbs or going over uneven surfaces. They also need dismantling to fit into cars.
