'I feel really calm. I feel better than any year before. I've done a few practices, but more importantly, I just feel like I'm in a really good place,' Miki, who is ranked third overall in Major League Eating, said.
'[I've] been really mindful of what I've been eating, how I've been resting...

spent some time in the gym.
'I've gone back and watched some footage and I think I've tweaked a few things to have a really strong performance this year.
'So, it's just 11 days to go, I think I'm going to try to do one more practice or do a half practice just to really get that technique dialed in and...

it should be a high performance, a high number this year.'
As for the magic number she wants to hit, Miki said she was 'hesitant' to put it out there, but she hopes to down 50 before saying goodbye to the contest for good one day.
'Obviously, I want to hit 50 on stage before I retire.

I've done it at home so many times. It just feels so elusive,' she told DailyMail.com.
'But yeah, 48 and a half is kind of an arbitrary number, so I'd like to make it a round 50, but I don't know.
'I said that last year knowing that I was prepared, but this year I might have to overprepare almost.
Her husband, Nick Wehry, is also a competitive eater and is ranked fourth overall by Major League Eating.

They share one child together, Max

'So, I'd like to say it's a personal best, but I just don't want to make that same mistake and fall short of it like I did last year.'
When it comes to her technique, Miki said she'll be making 'corrections' as she goes if it's early in the competition, and is planning to consume one hot dog at a time, spam instead of eating 'two side by side.'
'It's a really good sign if I hit 30 by five minutes... If I'm way behind that's probably going to be close to impossible,' she said.
