The lawsuit cites figures showing that between 2001 to 2020, the rejection rate for Black veterans who filed disability claims was rejected at 29.5 percent, compared to 24.2 percent of white veterans.

The lawsuit seeks compensation for Veterans Disability Lawsuit Monk and Black veterans who were wrongfully denied benefits. It also aims to force the VA to reassess the thousands of other claims that were wrongly dismissed. The lawsuit was filed in federal court this week.
