World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with item level upgrade's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor in order to provide them with a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment with a slot for them. The item must be at a minimum upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and can't be used multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade item could include a suffix or prefix changing the name of the equipment to which it is used (for instance "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions using fewer Upgrade crystals than they would need to reach the same level with normal methods.

A boost upgrade can modify the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades can be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop or collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of an item will be available during the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their equipment even if they are unsure how much it can be improved upon a reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be costly, and there is a high chance that the item could be obsolete or even break if it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could destroy Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the possibility of failure. Certain upgrades also provide an additional bonus when they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, and include any existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded various ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as you can.

In the endgame, you will often find that the most effective way to upgrade your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15, and they provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes much faster.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the many Glyphs and there are also a few rare glyphs to be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you will require them to be put on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

Utilizing a Glyph can boost all nodes that are connected to it, and it is recommended to position your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids, for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also consider placing them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system of items allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item upgrader has a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or obtained from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields some Technology Points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned, you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.

When a player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a new item of the same type. The same armor will receive an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This can be a downside since the item may increase in price even if you don't require it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens in order to do this. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, with an initial level and a different set of bonuses. This is useful for certain items, but it shouldn't be repeated often, as it can use up lots of resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times, increasing their value and giving players the ability to alter their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player repeatedly enters or exits the water. It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time raising the max roll by 10 points. This item is extremely important in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth up to 50x the value of the unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to boost the level of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of the piece, whereas upgrading weapon equipment will increase the base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object, it is at risk of failing. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting back to its original state, which will force the user to pay more for materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar on the bar for growth will be reset to zero. Additionally, the item will lose any gained bonuses such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as all other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or speed of reload). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon gains a crit chance increase that it will be applied before any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item could have five upgrades, each costing 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items may have different upgrade requirements from regular gear. For example they might require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. The player will need to bring every piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each upgrade requires a different amount of the ingredients needed to upgrade.
