The Secret Secrets Of Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
The Best Robot vacuums that mop Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at good robot vacuum Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment, focusing on robot vacuums best vacuums and mopping combos. Multitaskers are ideal for those who want to remove mopping from their list of things to do. They feature impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and some even wash and refill their own mopping pads to give themselves a hands-off clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you need to choose if you want an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other models on this list, which makes it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides one of my top navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery midway through a clean.
It's quick and does a great job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It cleans the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and hardwood floors in the living room, and hallways in a single pass. The suction motor's 8,000pa is quick at picking up sand, dirt, and pet hair. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it comes into contact with rugs, and the dual side brushes help to tease out dirt from corners.
The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as impressive. The mop rotates quickly and uses 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arms extend out slightly more than other robots, which can be helpful for getting into tight corners and on baseboards. The front arms can be used to clean larger objects, such as broken toys and books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tested. It doesn't make the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It is easy to install and performs well. However should you purchase this robot vacuum solely for mopping it is important to be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it a great option for homeowners looking for an efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.
The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house, identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and effectively. This will result in an effective, consistent cleaning that's also fairly quick.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach a wide range of surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards, and other difficult-to-access spots. They also have a stretchy side brush that can be extended to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.
Another notable feature is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction intensity and choose an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes, which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also turn off the side brush in order to prevent damage to carpets and rug.
The device is costly, however it has many useful features. It is important to keep in mind, however, that the device is subject to regular expenses, such as mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For instance brushrolls need to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pads must be changed every one to three months.
This robotic vacuum cleaner has a high Amazon rating and includes an array of physical automation features. It has an energy button that doubles as a general 'Clean button as well as a Home button that sends it back to its base station once it has completed the cleaning process. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin and refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dries its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a professional with a lot of work or someone who wants a cleaner home without spending a lot of time on chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a solid choice. Its powerful performance, smart navigation and long battery life make it simple to maintain a clean home with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it can handle mopping and vacuuming. It has two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping unit with a microfiber pad that snaps in and out of place. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may appear a bit dated however, they mean you don't have to worry about changing bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.
Our testers found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its best robot hoover feature is its precise floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. This made it a breeze for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' as well as virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mop.
We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair of pets. It was able capture some of the hair that shed by our cats, and even made it into the corners and crevices of our stairs, where other robots that vacuum and mop had struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low and there were pleasant jingles to let you know that it was starting and finishing its work.
The app was too easy and you had to alter the modules each time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app cannot save multiple maps. This can be an issue if your home has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want a smart robot that can do both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. It does however, have certain unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni is notable for its huge dock that serves as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin and an 2.5 liter dust bin.
The base also comes with a set of buttons to control the system. These allow you to start a cleaning task or recall the robot or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are worried about their children messing around with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to identify obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will steer clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally get caught up in an obstacle--such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you manually free it. This was a rare occurrence however it was frustrating because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert on its application.
The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually switch between the two, which isn't a big deal except for the fact that the mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.
On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad apparatus. It's a big difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also an impressive sight in the market that is dominated by boxes.
