1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've test. They feature motors that are top-of-the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobot models (including the top-rated model) they employ smart mapping technology to design detailed floor plans that avoid home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also feature a feature called carpet boost which boosts the robot's power when it sees an abundance of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on bare floors and are especially adept at cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to get caught up in shoes and socks and can't navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. Also, it doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of a room.
It's still a good robot vacuum value, especially if your home or office has lots of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save money. Additionally, it's quiet and can be used while you're at work or at school. The only thing it's missing that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does have self-emptying docks, however. If you're required to mop, the mopping pad can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of minutes.

However, it's not equipped with the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests, X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to sweep the entire house and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did a great job cleaning a range of floors and rooms that had different flooring types, including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds, shoes, and bundles of cables.
It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. The vacuum cleaner comes with an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to accomplish the task. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home depending on the degree of dirt they are.

The RX3 is more advanced than the price suggests. It does a stellar job vacuuming, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using one pad and a reciprocating movement that is more efficient than most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've examined. It's also self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app as well as a self-emptying, washable base.
The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate a mapping run which collects information about your floorplan and any "no go" areas you've marked on the map.
