The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can fully autonomously refill and empty its base station and it has an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, with an intuitive mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a problem in mornings before work, or in the evening when you're trying to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive however, not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to live with a little more noise and a little more cost, this is a very powerful two-in-one that will please almost everyone.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. It comes with a variety of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes the care of vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of an array of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and spot obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its top competitors.
