Upgrades can sometimes increase the power of a piece of equipment and at times even add additional features. The worth of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements, and the amount of random augmentations that are applied.
For instance, the top shield for racial discrimination Razortail is often upgraded to enhance its lightning absorb capability in PvP or to add additional defenses to missile-based designs in PvM. This makes it more exchangeable than the non-upgraded perfect version.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens are a way to reroll a purchased item like armor, weapon, or rings. The item is replaced with another item of the same type, but with different benefits. Reroll tokens can be an efficient method of upgrading equipment. However, they don't retain the level of the original item and any resources wasted aren't refunded.
Survivors may acquire reroll tokens via a variety of methods like the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. Reroll tokens can be used to alter an attribute on the equipment that could include increasing its damage or giving it a new stat.
Players can reroll their equipment into three attributes that include physical power, magical power and health. Upgrades to physical power boost damage from weapons and melee attack and spell power boost mage attacks and the ring. Health upgrades provide the player with additional health.
Three types of rerolls tokens are available in three categories: upgrade, rare and legendary. Each upgrade takes an item to a better quality, with the requirement of a higher-quality reroll token order to produce it. Upgrades that are enhanced require a standard item, rare upgrades require a special or legendary item and legendary upgrades require three legendary items.
The marker for rerolling, unlike markers or tokens placed on action areas, stays on the spot until the next Success is rerolled. This allows you to save upgrades.

A piece of equipment may be upgraded up to five times. Each time the item is upgraded, its stats will increase by a small amount. The highest level for an item is 19.
Once an item reaches the highest level, upgrades will no longer be available for it. When an item attains a certain upgrade track (e.g. Upgrades for the Veteran or Explorer track ) they will be discounted.
Upgrade components are a kind of equipment that can slot into armors, weapons trinkets, gathering tools and other trinkets to give an additional benefit or bonus while the equipment is in use. Upgrades can be beneficial to certain items, but not because they boost stats. They are more valuable to players when they achieve a perfect roll. A perfectly rolled 200/6500 armor set piece, for example, is highly valued by the melee PvP communities and could be worth as much as 20-50 times that of the unupp'd version.
The game will display the requirements once you choose the upgrade component to be incorporated into the Best item upgrade. The game will show the required requirements when you select an upgrade component to slot into an item.
