However, it's a good choice for those who want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also very quiet and can work while you're at work, or going to school. The only thing it lacks that you don't get in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. And it's less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on for long and don't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle however. If you're in need of it clean the mopping pad, it can be replaced with an awe-inspiring one in a matter of just a few seconds.

It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate the mapping process that collects data on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map.
