When I tested the S1, it was quick to locate our downstairs, which has Linoleum flooring in the kitchen/dining room and bathrooms, as well as medium-pile carpeting and a large area rug. It was capable of driving close to walls and even over raised thresholds without issue. However it had some issues traversing the stairs in one pass. The S1 performed admirably in cleaning hard floors. Its mop drove smoothly on its flat side and swung up when it reached carpets or rug.

Before each mopping session, the docking station on the S1 automatically emptys its dust bin and refills its water tank onboard with clean filtered ozonated water. The dock also provides an extra-deep cleaning solution to the water. The S1's tank of water holds enough water for about 12 cleaning sessions before it has to be cleaned, although it will differ based the amount you use the mop.

Like all 2-in-1 robots the S1 requires periodic maintenance to ensure it is operating efficiently. To do this, you'll need to rinse out the dirty water tank regularly to keep it from becoming clogged. You'll also need to clean the swivel wheel and sensors regularly to keep them from getting clogged by dirt or dust. Overall the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.

2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete

This all-in-one robot mop and vacuum combo from Ecovacs is a great choice for cleaning requirements. The Ecovacs robot vacuum has 8700Pa of suction and comes with many innovative features, such as full home mapping, voice control, and smart path-planning to avoid obstacles and cleans around furniture. The mopping capabilities of the robot are impressive. Rotating mop heads actually lift the floor and scrub it instead of just drag a pad across a surface. The mops are cleaned and dried at the base station, as needed.

This robot hoover combo has an easy-to-use interface that guides you throughout the process. It also comes with a hand-vacuum which can be used to clean those hard-to reach areas that the robot can't reach. There are also two water tanks which are automatically emptied or refilled. It comes with a range of useful settings that allow you to fine tune your cleaning preferences.

The Deebot X2 Combo Complete is an excellent vacuum cleaner. It has a powerful suction that is able to easily pick up dirt and other debris that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are decent, but it can get stuck on small area mats and rugs at my home (which you can mitigate by creating virtual boundaries in the app). The mopping capabilities are quite good as well, with a pair of spinning mop heads that actually lift and scrub floors, as opposed to simply dragging the pad over it. The mops are also cleaned with heated water, and dried in the basestation when needed. Mops are also refilled from the top of the base station as required.

3. Dreame X40 ultra

Dreame launched the luxurious X30 Ultra earlier this year, but their new flagship model of robot mop and vacuum has more impressive features. It has fantastic cleaning results and is simple to maintain. This makes it a contender for our list of the best robot vacuums and mop. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a longer side brush guarantee a thorough, custom-designed clean.

The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, picking up large and fine particles from both hard floors and carpets. It also cleaned the most filthy areas well, and keeping pet hairs from getting caught in knots and other dirt. The sweeping performance is augmented by a side brush that swings out to tackle hard-to-reach corners, and an extending mop pad that can be placed alongside baseboards.

Its navigation is intelligent that can navigate small spaces and negotiating stairways without missing a step. It can go from one room to the next without having to reverse direction. This is useful for homes with a lot of rooms. Its obstacle avoidance system is less advanced than other models however, and tends to leave a thick distance around obstacles, which could result in missed spots.

The app features a simple user interface that is designed to be easy to use for both new and experienced users. The app lets you schedule and manage cleanings, alter the suction power and mopping settings as well as view 3D and 2D maps, and more. It can be operated through the app, Alexa, Google Assistant or Siri and allows you to monitor its progress from any location. The Q5 is still one of the most powerful vacuums and mopping robots we've ever seen at this price, even though it's not equipped to wipe your floor. It's got a powerful suction power of 5500Pa and an automatic emptying system, which means you don't need to empty the bin manually every time. It also comes with a smart app that lets you set your floor type and schedule cleanings, and an automatic water tank refill and wash system for hands-free operation.

The mops are also quite impressive with 2700Pa of power that can tackle dirt, dust and pet hair on both carpets and hard floors. The Q5 was among the few robots that we tested did not show a problem with high-pile area carpets and rugs. However, it could not remove kitty-poop or cable tangles. This isn't a surprise as it doesn't contain AI-powered obstacle avoidance.

K10 Plus is one of the most quiet robovacs that we have tested. It also uses a unique system to map your home, which allows it to get into the corners and tight spaces that other vacuums can't reach.
