TLC Star Tammy Slaton Is thankful To Be Alive After Weight Loss

The 36-year-old personality - who was recently praised for twitter.com looking 'healthy' - spoke to People about her recent progress.

Following last year's bariatric surgeon surgery, she told the publication that she 'wised up' after a near-death experience.

Before her life-saving surgery, she had to be put on a ventilator and placed in a medically induced coma when family members said she had stopped breathing.

Sharing another update with the outlet, Tammy explained, 'I was able to make my lungs strong enough to get my trach [tracheostomy tube for breathing] out, and then recently the doctor cleared me to be off my oxygen machine during the daytime.'

She added, 'Now I only wear my oxygen at night, along with my BiPap machine.

'I monitor twitter.com my oxygen levels throughout the day and keep my machine on hand in case I need it.'

Slaton, who is from Kentucky, reached rock bottom in late 2021 when she was rushed to the hospital after she was unable to breathe.

At the time, she had to have a tube inserted into her throat to assist her oxygen intake.
