It's the best robot hoover for carpets, although it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba rather than the boxes This robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our evaluations. iRobot's latest flagship model also is among the most intelligent model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that has a perfect 10 in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. It also has a feature called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the automatic vacuum cleaner and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the house depending on how dirty the areas tend to be.

If you own a larger home, you should consider selecting a model with a spot or zone cleaning mode. This allows you to instruct the robot on which part of your home must be cleaned with the help of an app or voice control. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have large furniture. The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping which collects information about your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, plan an area for cleaning or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to ensure better performance. The app offers a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.
