The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances, focusing on mopping and robot vacuum combos. These multitaskers are a great option for those looking to get mopping off their to-do list. Some have great mapping and obstacles avoidance. Some wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free cleaning.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you should select if you're looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than the other models which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners or under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a best robot vacuum vacuum. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery midway through cleaning.

It's extremely fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single sweep. Its 8,000pa motor is able to pick up dirt hair, pet hair, and poop effortlessly. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it encounters rugs and the two side brushes help draw out debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as impressive. The mop rotates quickly and makes use of 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stain. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which can be helpful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger pieces of debris, like books and broken toys.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tested. It doesn't make as loud of a sound while vacuuming or mopping and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to install and performs well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum to mop it is important to be aware of this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a variety of features.

The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out your home and identify furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean effectively and intelligently. This will result in a thorough, consistent clean which is also relatively quick.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching many different surface areas. This includes corners, baseboards and other difficult to reach spots. They also come with a stretchy side brush that can be extended to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and can be dried to eliminate odors and stop buildup.

App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo allows you to alter the intensity of its suction, and choose between a back-andforth, or a more randomized pattern. You can also choose the number of passes, which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also decide to disable the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.

This device is expensive but it comes with a lot of smart features. It is important to note, however, that the device will incur recurring expenses in the form mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For example, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads must be changed every one to three months.

This robotic vacuum cleaner has an excellent rating on Amazon and offers a wide range of physical automation features. It has the power button that doubles as a general 'Clean button as well as a Home button that will take it back to its base station after completing its cleaning robot mop and vacuum task. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a professional with a lot of work or just want to have a clean home without spending a lot of time on chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a solid choice. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation and long battery life make it easy to maintain a clean house with little effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum best vacuum is a two-in-one vacuum and mop. It is able to perform mopping and vacuuming. It has two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping unit with microfiber pads that snap in and out of place. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may seem a bit old-fashioned but they're a good thing because you don't have to think about changing disposable bags or refueling the water tank.

Our test participants discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its most impressive feature was its accurate floorplan map which it uses to draw a route when cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' as well as virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.

The Matrix Plus also did a remarkable job at collecting pet hair. It was able to collect the majority of hair shed by our cats and even got into the nooks and crannys of our stairs which other robots struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low, and there were some pleasant jingles to signal that it was starting and working towards its goal.

The biggest flaws were its simple app and the requirement to switch between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't store multiple maps, which can be a problem when you live in a house with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a smart device that can mop and vacuum.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our test, but it has some distinct features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its enormous dock which serves as the robot's charging base and the housing for two water tanks, a sink for cleaning as well as a 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically empties.

The base comes with several control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning task, recall the best robot vacuum or run the dock's automatic vacuum cleaner and mop emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to toggle a child lock, which is a nice feature for parents who are worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.

The Omni Omni, like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to spot obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will stay clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will sometimes get so entangled with an obstacle--such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug--that it becomes stuck and stops working until you free it. This is a rare event however, it was a bit frustrating because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert on its application.

Another possible issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that the mopping pad isn't cleaned or dried between use. This could lead to mildew and mold.

On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern, sleek base and mopping pad. It's a big contrast to the basic black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. And it's a welcome sight for the market that is dominated by boxy units.
